SUMMARY:Safety Planning Intervention Training
DESCRIPTION:The Stanley-Brown Safety Planning Intervention (SPI) is an evidence-based brief and collaborative clinical intervention between the clinician and those experiencing self-harm and suicidal thoughts that aims to mitigate acute risk. This training is for certified licensed community behavioral health clinicians, school-based behavioral health providers, and mental health professionals who provide direct clinical services and interventions.\nPart 1 | 9:00AM – 2:00PM\nThe first part of this workshop will provide an overview of the Stanley-Brown SPI, including who is appropriate to receive the SPI, data on SPI effectiveness, and comprehensive instruction and roleplay demonstration of how to deliver the SPI to suicidal adults.\nPart 2 | 2:00PM – 3:00PM\nThe last hour of this workshop will describe necessary adaptations for delivering the SPI specifically to suicidal adolescents and will include a roleplay demonstration of how to involve caregivers in the intervention.\n*Please note that attending Part 1 is required to attend Part 2*\n
