SUMMARY:Navigating Ethical Practice & Legal Liability in Suicide Risk Assessment (September session)
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Monmouth University School of Social Work, this training is a three-hour long online, interactive program for both non-clinical and clinical behavioral health providers who work with youth at risk for suicide.\nPresented by Maureen Underwood, L.C.S.W. and Michelle Scott, Ph.D., M.S.W.\nLearning objectives:\n1. Name best practice in assessment, intervention, and documentation\n2. Know the types of screening, assessment and crisis-intervention strategies including the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS) and SafeT protocol, the Ask Suicide Screening Questions (ASQ) and Brief Suicide Severity Assessment (BSSA), Safety Planning, and Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) and how to get additional suicide prevention resources and training.\n3. Know the standards for protection against malpractice liability\nSpace is limited to 55 people per session. More training dates will be scheduled as interest allows. Social Work CEUs are provided by the Monmouth University School of Social Work Professional Education Program (PEP) and recognized by the New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners.\n
