Prevent Suicide New Jersey Behavioral Health Directory
Prevent Suicide NJ is dedicated to providing support to the greater New Jersey community. In addition to the information on the Suicide Prevention Resources page, we offer this free directory guide of mental health and suicide prevention trained professionals who have taken our various trainings. These providers all accept public and private insurance or provide services at a reduced or no cost. Please contact the individual provider for coverage details.

Individuals on this list have reported completion of a variety of suicide prevention and intervention trainings, please review each individuals’ credentials.

- Live trainings:
- Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT): family therapy model training specifically designed to target family and individual processes associated with adolescent suicide and depression (Levels 1 – 3)
- Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS): evidence-based training to treat people suffering from serious thoughts of self-harm using the CAMS Framework.
- Safety Planning Intervention (SPI): collaborative intervention training between the clinician and the individual that aims to mitigate acute risk.
- Online Trainings:
- Assessing Suicide-Screening Questions (ASQ): suicide risk screening tool training for use among both youth and adults. Screening identifies individuals that require further mental health/suicide safety assessment. ASQ trainings assist with this management plan, aids implementation of suicide risk screening, and provides tools for the management of patients who are found to be at risk.
- Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM): this training educates how to reduce access to the methods people use to attempt suicide.
- Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS): training that supports suicide risk screening through a series of simple, plain-language questions that anyone can ask. The answers help users identify whether someone is at risk for suicide, determine the severity and immediacy of that risk, and gauge the level of support that the person needs
